Permeability measurement of geocomposites on orthogonal specimens
Souček, Kamil ; Staš, Lubomír
The hydraulic conductivity coefficient of geocomposites is important parameter for evaluation of sealing chemical grouting. There can be problem with preparing of cylindrical gocomposite specimens by drilling for permeability measurements in some cases (e.g. specimens fall into small pieces of irregular shapes). In such cases shaping of geocomposite specimens is easier by cutting than drilling. The paper deals with concept of preparing and methods of hydraulic conductivity measurements at orthogonal geocsomposites specimens conditions. There are some results of geocomposites permeability measurements in this paper.
Failure character of coal geo-composites grouting resins base
Souček, Kamil ; Staš, Lubomír ; Obara, Y. ; Fukahori, D.
One of the possibilities of improving stability of longwall gates and roadway driven in coal seams in the application of a chemical grouting that will result in formation of a coal geocomposite in the surroudings of the underground roadway. The properties of such a coal geocomposite differ from the ones of the unmodified coal seam. The presented paper deals with laboratory geo-mechanical tests of pure coal and coal geo-composites prepared in laboratory. The paper discusses the different failure of these original and modified coal samples. The X-ray CT scans were used for observation and demonstration of failure evolution in these samples of pure coal and coal geo-composites.
Confirmation of presence of chemical grouts in grouted rocks - proving methods
Ščučka, Jiří ; Vaculíková, Lenka
The confirmation of a presence of chemical grouts in the pore system of fine-grained soils or in the fine cracks of grouted rocks and engineering constructions is a common requirement in the laboratory analyses of geocomposite material (polyurethane resin+rock/soil, polyurethane resin+building material). The combination of two analytical methods can be used for the reliable detection of the injection medium in the grouted rock environment: optical fluorescence microscopy+digital image processing, - Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy of the powdered rock/soil sample.
